Max Verstappen vs. Frenkie de Jong

When TV, internet and telephone service provider VodafoneZiggo wanted to score big with a new advertising campaign, it turned to NOMOBO's production and post-production expertise – and we certainly hit the target!

Working in collaboration with brand activation agency Kumpany Amsterdam and publicity agency OMD, we created a video campaign for online and TV - including a 30-second commercial for Dutch TV - featuring three of the Netherlands' most famous sporting superstars.

Formula One driver Max Verstappen and footballer Frenkie de Jong went head-to-head in a massive FIFA 19 showdown that saw Ajax player Matthijs de Ligt act as chief commentator. And the game could not have been any larger – it was beamed live on to the external big screen at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome, a 17,000-capacity stadium that opened in 2012 and has hosted Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Prince.

Within days the videos went viral. Our efforts were immediately recognized by soccerfans and Formula1 fans and the national press, earning a nomination in the Best Influencer Campaign category at The Best Social Awards 2019!

But who won the Max vs Frenkie showdown? Watch the full video – directed by Job Robbers – to find out...
